EYES Clinical and Research Observership Programmes (C.O.P. and R.O.P.)
EYES Clinical Observership Programme (C.O.P.)
First proposed during the EYES Committee meeting in Athens, February 2017 and consequently approved by the ESE ExCo, the first EYES Clinical Observership Programme was finalised in March 2018 and launched in 2019 for 2020 EYES Clinical Observership Program (C.O.P.). Due to the interest in this first C.O.P., a complementary Research Obeservership Programme (R.O.P.) was developed in 2021 for launch end 2021 to run alongside the C.O.P. in 2022.
The aim of this Programme is to provide the opportunity for ESE Early Career Investigators (ECI) from Europe to grow and learn during a short, one-month stay in various European endocrine centres of special interest. Due to different European laws the time spent at the host centre will be defined as an “observership".
2020/21 C.O.P. Ten Observerships were awarded (three funded by ESE and seven self-funded by the participant. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Observerships will take place in the second half of 2021.
