EYES Clinical Observership Programme (C.O.P.)
First proposed during the EYES Committee meeting in Athens, February 2017 and consequently approved by the ESE ExCo, the first EYES Clinical Observership Programme was finalised in March 2018 and launched in 2019 for 2020 EYES Clinical Observership Program (C.O.P.). Due to the interest in this first C.O.P., a complementary Research Obeservership Programme (R.O.P.) was developed in 2021 for launch end 2021 to run alongside the C.O.P. in 2022.
The aim of this Programme is to provide the opportunity for ESE Early Career Investigators (ECI) from Europe to grow and learn during a short, one-month stay in various European endocrine centres of special interest. Due to different European laws the time spent at the host centre will be defined as an “observership".
2020/21 C.O.P. Ten Observerships were awarded (three funded by ESE and seven self-funded by the participant. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Observerships will take place in the second half of 2022.
2021/22 C.O.P. Eleven Observerships were awarded (three funded by ESE and eight self-funded by the participant. The Observerships will take place from September 2022 onwards. See here for full details.

2023 Applications for the 2023 C.O.P and R.O.P exchange programme grants opened end November 2022 and will close 7 March 2023. Please read the application documents carefully before your submit your application.
All applications will be reviewed by the EYES Committee plus the Chair of the Science Committee (R.O.P) and a representative of the Clinical Committee (C.O.P).
Successful applicants will be notified in May 2023 and announced during the EYES Symposia at ECE 2023 in Istanbul, Turkey.
