21/08/2017: BioMed Alliance & FEAM joint statement on strengthening biomedical research for the benefit of European citizens
The BioMed Alliance and the Federation of European Academies of Medicine (FEAM) have united to collaborate and address current gaps in the support of biomedical research in Europe.
The BioMed Alliance Board of Directors together with FEAM leadership has developed a joint statement on strengthening biomedical research for the benefit of European citizens. The joint statement has been approved by BioMed Alliance Board of Directors and by FEAM.
The joint statement is a useful document for discussions with decision makers in view of the next EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation (FP9) and towards a European Health Research Institute.
As a first step, a high-level Scientific Panel for Health(SPH) /Biomed Alliance/FEAM meeting will be organized on September 15. The objective of the meeting is to share information on how best to promote the European Health Research Institute concept and cooperate in informing decision-makers on this issue.
The Biomed Alliance will circulate the outcomes of the meeting and will outline a step-by-step communication plan.
