The Patient Experience

ESE recognises the importance of working with patients and patient-led organisations to ensure that the voice of the patient is heard. Throughout our work, we maintain a strong focus on improving the diagnosis, treatment and long-term prognosis of endocrine conditions, helping to improve the lives of patients across Europe and beyond.

Patient Advocacy Groups have been an important part of the European Congress of Endocrinology (ECE) for a number of years. Representatives attend the Congress not only to hear the scientific content but also to connect with healthcare professionals and share information via booths within the exhibition hall.

The Patient’s Voice Hub - sponsored by Novo Nordisk and Takeda

ESE is continually looking for new ways in which we can engage the patient community and bridge the gap between patient experience and practitioner. Last year, at e-ECE 2021, we introduced ‘The Patient’s Voice Hub’ – a selection of educational sessions curated by patient organisations, which brought together leading healthcare professionals and patients to discuss the real-life impact of treatment approaches and practices. These sessions proved extremely popular and instigated some energetic and insightful dialogue and now, at ECE 2022, we are delighted to be bringing this format to a ‘live’ meeting.

The Patient Experience Zone

ECE 2022 also sees the launch of the exciting new Patient Experience Zone - a dedicated area within the exhibition hall where patient groups, NGOs and Networks and medical teams from our industry sponsors will come together to provide focussed information and education about the patient journey, from diagnosis through to treatment and ongoing support.
