We look forward to seeing you!
We are delighted to bring you the best in global endocrine science and unrivalled networking opportunities at our 25th ECE. Our 2023 Congress will run again as a hybrid congress: in-person at the Haliç Congress Centre in Istanbul, and online via ECE@Home.
We look forward to seeing many of you in person, and we are also delighted to welcome those who will be with us via our virtual ECE@Home platform.

We have contingency plans in place should any unexpected event arise – please read the full Terms and Conditions.
Whether you are joining us in person or virtually, we look forward to seeing you and for your participation in what is shaping up to be an excellent Congress!

In the unlikely event that we have to move from hybrid to fully virtual for ECE 2023 we will exchange in-person tickets for an ECE@Home ticket, giving you access to the full Congress streamed online live and then after that on ESE On Demand. Please check your travel and accommodation terms and conditions, along with your travel insurance policy, in the unlikely event that ESE has to cancel ECE 2023 or your participation in Istanbul.
Please note: ESE will not cover or be responsible for any losses or costs associated with accommodation or travel to ECE 2023. Accommodation and travel costs are the sole responsibility of delegates, ESE is unable to refund pre-booked accommodation and travel costs and this will be at the discretion of individual hotels and providers.
A Certificate of Attendance will be available for all delegates attending the ECE 2023 Congress.
We are have applied for CME accreditation from the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®).
The Turkish Lira (₺) is the only currency that is officially recognised as legal tender in Turkey. ECE 2023 only accepts Turkish Lira.
If you cause damage to third parties and property you will be liable for this. Please take out valid, comprehensive third-party liability insurance.
ESE is working with all venues being used for ECE 2023 in Istanbul, Turkey to ensure that they are working to the highest standards of COVID-19 compliance based on the local Turkish regulations and that all necessary sanitation and hygiene precautions are made.
Delegates/group leaders are responsible for arranging appropriate travel insurance for their Group and for ensuring that all individuals in the Group meet all COVID-19 requirements. This includes the provision and completion of all necessary documentation and testing for travel which may be in place at the time of travel to and from Istanbul, Turkey.
Delegates are personally responsible for all mandatory testing requirements that they may need in order to travel to and from Istanbul and stay for the duration of ECE 2023 (Saturday 13 May to Tuesday 16 May 2023). We recommend obtaining travel insurance for your trip and reviewing all accommodation and travel Terms and Conditions (T&Cs) before booking in light of COVID-19 restrictions.
ESE will not cover or be responsible or liable for any costs that may be incurred by any attendees to ECE 2023 for testing, quarantine or insurance costs.
The European Society of Endocrinology and Bioscientifica Ltd cannot accept liability for injuries or losses of whatever nature incurred by delegates, nor for loss of or damage to luggage and/or personal belongings. Please check the validity of your own travel insurance. All reasonable endeavours will be made to hold the ECE 2023 and to present its programme as scheduled under circumstances which assure the comfort and safety of all participants. However, neither ESE nor its committees, representatives or agents, shall be held liable for any injury, damage or inconvenience which may be suffered by any person while travelling to or from, or during such person's presence in Turkey in connection with the Congress. Participants are fully liable for damages caused to third parties and property. All delegates shall have a valid, fully comprehensive third party liability insurance.
At ESE we recognise the growing impact our activities and events have on the environment, therefore we are creating an environmental policy detailing how we are decreasing our environmental impact.
We are in the process of working on a wider environmental policy across all of ESE's activities, which will be communicated in the coming months to the ESE membership.
All event registrants will have access for 60 days following the event or congress, and extended time if you are an ESE member.
ECE 2023 includes a commercial exhibition. Only registered delegates are allowed in the exhibition area.
A First Aid room will be available at the venue. Please come to registration or the ESE stand if you or someone you are with needs assistance.
The official language of ECE 2023 is English.
Coffee and lunches are included in the registration fee for a full Congress in-person ticket and will be served daily.
EU citizens must either present a passport or an ID card valid for the duration of the stay in order to enter Turkey for tourist visits of up to six months. Citizens of other countries must have valid passports. Some non-EU citizens are required to produce a visa. Please contact your travel agent or the nearest Turkish diplomatic post for further information. Further information on what documents are required to enter Turkey can be found here.
In accordance with the policy of ESE, it is strictly forbidden to take photographs during sessions or of posters.
There will be a dedicated Room of Silence at ECE 2023.
Fully accredited members of the Press are invited to attend ECE 2023. For more information please contact ece2023@endocrinology.org
At ESE we recognise the growing impact our activities and events have on the environment, therefore the printed programme book you will receive in Istanbul will be a lot smaller than previous years. We encourage you to view the abstract list electronically and make full use of ESE On Demand.
The arrangements for ECE 2023 to run, as planned, as a hybrid congress: in-person at the Haliç Congress Centre in Istanbul, and online via ECE@Home, are progressing well.
We want to reassure you that we are in regular contact with our Local Organising Committee (LOC) in Turkey, who are in touch with key ministers in the country to ensure that all information we provide and measures we take are based on official guidance. Together we are keeping a close watch on the local situation (as we do for every city and country we hold ECE in) and following the advice of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office in the UK.
In terms of our own plans and precautions for the congress, we are implementing the following:
- All international events in Turkey are held with the support of local law enforcement and all relevant agencies have been informed of the congress
- The congress venue sits within its own campus with no public access permitted. Security gates at both entrances to the complex are staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Access to the congress venue will not be permitted without a delegate badge, which can be collected on the day of arrival and will be checked throughout the duration of the congress, both on arrival each day (to the venue and to any related off-site social events) and also when accessing sessions within the congress venue
- The main entrance to the congress venue has x-ray scanners as well as bag scanners which will be in use throughout, for all attendees.
All measures are being reviewed on an ongoing basis and with input from the LOC, venue and local authorities and we will of course proactively inform registered delegates, ESE members, our corporate partners, patient advocacy groups and other key stakeholders should there be any material changes which impact the safe running of the congress or attendance of our delegates
For information and advice on travelling to Turkey, we suggest you refer to your country’s Government website for advice on your local situation.
The European Society of Endocrinology welcomes the use of social media. To ensure that the needs of all parties are met, we ask that delegates using social media comply with the following policy.
- We ask that all writers attending ECE 2023 gain approval from a speaker/poster presenter prior to quoting or publishing that individual’s scientific results on the internet or through other forms of media. This policy applies to both professional writers/journalists and to non-journalists blogging about the congress or otherwise sharing information amongst a group of individuals.
- Please refrain from taking photos of any session/poster without prior consent from the congress organisers.
- All delegates are respectfully asked to refrain from communicating using mobile devices whilst lectures are in progress.
We would like to advise that we are unable to accept registrations for any accompanying people (including spouses and children) at ECE 2023. This is due to health and safety considerations, the Pharmaceutical Code of Practice around the promotion of products to non-Health Care Professionals, and restrictions in-room capacities due to Covid-19. For registered delegates who are parents with small infants and babes in arms, there will be a breastfeeding room available close to the main registration area. Please ask the staff at the Registration Desk to show you where this is. There are no childcare facilities onsite at the Congress, therefore childcare should be arranged separately in Istanbul. To comply with insurance and safety requirements, infants must always be held or be in a pushchair. Entry to the breastfeeding room is subject to all regular ECE 2023 Congress entry regulations.
Babies are permitted to enter the Congress venue with their parent/carer to travel to and from the breastfeeding room only. Please note that children and spouses are not permitted in any ECE 2023 session halls, exhibition areas or adjoining spaces.
We thank you for your understanding.
