European Hormone Day returns on 15 May 2023 – save the date!

On 15 May 2023, ESE, the European Hormone and Metabolism Foundation and partner societies will be marking the second European Hormone Day. European Hormone Day brings together all those with an interest in endocrine health and disease to raise awareness of the vital role of hormones and promote policies aimed at better prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

Last year’s event was a huge success, with conversations taking place all over Europe. We also saw 60 national and specialist endocrine societies and 11 MEPs endorse the ‘Milano Declaration’, which called for hormones to be better integrated in European Health policies. This year, ESE and the ESE Foundation are publishing a public-facing annex to the Milano Declaration, 10 Recommendations for Good Hormone Health, which sets out simple actions each of us can take to ensure better hormone health.

We are also publishing Because Hormones Matter: Working together to raise awareness and promote better endocrine health in Europe, which includes a calendar to help the endocrine community focus our combined efforts over the coming year.

We invite you to join us on European Hormone Day to put hormones in the spotlight and keep the momentum going to promote better hormone health.

Here are a few ways you can get involved:

  • Spread the word on social media to start conversations about the importance of hormones and create a buzz around European Hormone Day
  • Reach out to local and national media to raise awareness of the need for greater emphasis on hormones in health policies
  • Hold online or local events to encourage your community or members to consider what good hormone health means to them
  • Use #BecauseHormonesMatter on this and other awareness days to raise the profile of hormones and show how promoting hormone health can improve outcomes across a whole range of conditions.

Take a look at www.europeanhormoneday.org for more information and please make sure 15 May 2023 is saved in your diary!

Thank you for supporting European Hormone Day 2023.
