Explore the new ESE EU Research Funding Information Hub

At the e-ECE 2021 ECAS symposium, ESE President Elect, Martin Reincke introduced the newly created “ESE EU Research Funding Information Hub”. Housed on ESE’s website, this Hub aims to provide up-to-date information on research funding schemes that the European Commission is launching. A total health care research-related budget of €13.2 bn (€8.1 bn from Horizon Europe and €5.1 bn from the EU4Health programme) is available during 2021-2027.

The ESE EU Research Funding Information Hub guides researchers to these funding schemes, provides a ‘Your Funding Journey’ to easier find funding opportunities in line with the researchers’ profile, and details information when the research calls will be published by the European Commission. Calls related to the Horizon Europe – Health cluster will be published in June, according to the latest update from the European Commission. Additionally, and for those seeking to apply for funding from EU Research schemes, ESE can be a supportive partner for applications.

The ESE Science Committee, headed by Felix Beuschlein, took the initiative to develop this informative resource dedicated to EU Research and Research Funding opportunities against a background of increased investment in health-related research by the European Commission. The funding is intended to address the inequalities in research funding across Europe and the relative lack of awareness of these programmes (as demonstrated by the findings of a large survey carried out by ESE in 2018-2019 (Mapping Endocrinology In Europe).

We invite all early career researchers, but also those more advanced, to consult this website and to contact the ESE office with any queries.
