The European Society of Endocrinology is a focal point for endocrinology and hormone research in Europe, both by collaborating with national and specialty societies and also by championing endocrinology at a pan-European level. The Society will consider endorsement requests for policy statements and guidelines, projects and meetings and events.

ESE Clinical Guidelines

Clinical Guidelines produced by the European Society of Endocrinology, either in collaboration with other Societies or independently, are aimed at providing recommendations for patient care for specified conditions. Through a systematic review of the available literature, the guideline teams, guided by both a clinical and a methodological expert, aim to inform on the best clinical practice while also highlighting specific areas with a need for further research.

ESE’s clinical guidelines are opened for review by our members and relevant interested parties (such as patient support groups) before publication and are presented during the annual European Congress of Endocrinology.

Where it is considered beneficial, patient support literature will be prepared alongside the guidelines to provide patients with assistance in understanding and managing their condition.

For more information on ESE’s Clinical Guidelines please read the Editorial by Dr Olaf M Dekkers published in the August 2015 edition of the European Journal of Endocrinology.
