The Adolescence Workshop: A Challenging Time for Physical, Mental, and Social Health and Diseases

5-7 November 2025

This workshop 'The Adolescence: A Challenging Time for Physical, Mental, and Social Health and Diseases', organised by the International Academy of Human Reproduction (IAHR) will take place from 5-7 November 2026 in Athens, Greece.

Adolescence is a pivotal stage in human development, influencing lifelong well-being. While often associated with pediatrics and gynecology, it is also deeply connected to genetics, metabolism, nutrition, and environmental factors.

This workshop will explore key concerns such as eating disorders, borderline personality disorders, addictions (including social media dependency), gender identity challenges, and various forms of violence. Additionally, discussions will address conditions linked to puberty, including abnormal uterine bleeding, hypothalamic amenorrhea, polycystic ovary syndrome, metabolic syndrome, sexually transmitted diseases, and endometriosis. Topics related to contraception, fertility preservation, and adolescent pregnancy management will also be examined.

This event will offer a holistic, interdisciplinary platform, bringing together experts from pediatrics, gynecology, psychology, psychiatry, and social sciences to assess the collective impact of these challenges and propose comprehensive medical and psychological support strategies. Each session will feature three to four focused lectures, followed by discussions, with networking opportunities during scheduled breaks.

Registration is open to researchers and healthcare professionals worldwide. ESE Members are offered a 20% discount when entering the code ADO20 during the registration process on the workshop website.
