Open Call: Hosting ESE Postgraduate Course in 2029

The European Society of Endocrinology is pleased to launch an Open Call for Expressions of Interest from National Partner Societies wishing to host the ESE Postgraduate Course in 2029.

The purpose of this call is to ensure a transparent, inclusive and structured process for selecting future host countries, while keeping the application process simple and proportionate.

We are inviting interested National Partner Societies to submit a short Expression of Interest outlined below.

Deadline for submission: 30 September 2026.

Please note, only National Partner Societies of ESE, members of ECAS, are eligible to apply to host an ESE Postgraduate course.

The final selection will be made by the ESE Education Committee and approved by the ESE Executive Committee, based on strategic alignment, geographical balance, organisational and financial feasibility.

Applications that are not successful may be considered by ESE for subsequent years.

In case of questions, please email info@ese-hormones.org .

ESE Postgraduate Training Courses in Clinical Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism are primarily aimed at in-training and early-career specialists in endocrinology. The course programme follows the ESE Curriculum and Training Recommendation in Endocrinology and provides comprehensive education in key areas of endocrinology and metabolism. Participants have a unique opportunity to learn from and interact with leading European experts in the field of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism.

The course typically runs over 2.5 days and includes lectures, clinical cases, and practice exam questions. Attendance is offered in two formats: in person or online through live streaming.

The course is usually hosted as a standalone event, fully owned and run by ESE. The ESE Education Committee defines the course topics based on the curriculum, and the programme is finalised in collaboration with the National Society through the Programme Organising Committee.

The National Society’s responsibilities include:

  • Nominating 3-4 members to join the Programme Organising Committee (POC), which is responsible for the programme planning. The members of the POC are also expected to take on speaking or chairing roles as relevant during the course.

  • Active approach to local sponsors to support the fundraising for the event.

  • Promotion of the course through the National Society’s communication channels, to ensure participation of the local audience.

If more relevant for the local circumstances, a Postgraduate Course hosted alongside a national meeting can also be considered by ESE. In this case, all details and arrangements will be discussed on a case-by-case basis to define responsibilities between ESE and the National Society, including the financial aspects.

We encourage all interested National Partner Societies to submit this Expression of Interest form.

Deadline for submission: 30 September 2026.
