In the rapidly evolving field of endocrinology, staying abreast of the latest scientific advancements and innovative treatments is essential for healthcare professionals and researchers. The ESE ‘Innovation in Endocrinology’ webinars are designed to highlight groundbreaking developments in endocrine science and practice.

The ongoing developments and progress in research, disease understanding, diagnosis, treatment and long-term care and outcomes warrant the specific focus offered by this webinar model. The webinars are free to attend and will be recorded, with recordings being made available for on demand viewing via the ESE website.

About the topic

ADH1 is caused by pathogenic variants in the calcium-sensing receptor gene (CASR), which senses the level of calcium in the body and regulates the amount of calcium in the blood through its effects on the parathyroid glands, the kidney, and bone. Historically, ADH1 management has relied on symptomatic treatment with calcium supplements and active vitamin D, which do not address the underlying pathophysiology. Encaleret could become the first targeted oral therapy for ADH1 directly addressing the underlying cause, rather than just managing calcium levels with supplements and active vitamin D.

This webinar will provide endocrinologists with an opportunity to understand mechanism-based therapy targeting the CaSR and translate recent efficacy data into clinical practice implications for their patient populations.
