ESE is delighted to be part of the new COST Action ‘EndLess: Reducing Endocrine Disruptor Exposure for a Healthy Start for Future Generations’.

This COST Action will unite an interdisciplinary international network dedicated to reducing exposure to endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs), with a particular focus on maternal and child health, prevention, education, policy translation and evidence-based public health interventions.

Aleksandra Buha Djordjevic, a member of ESE’s Environmental Endocrinology Focus Area and the EDC Working Group has been elected as Chair.

Over the next four years, we aim to address exposure to endocrine-disrupting chemicals during pregnancy and early childhood through:

  • strengthening collaboration between researchers, clinicians, public health experts, educators and policymakers,
  • supporting early-career researchers through training and mobility opportunities,
  • developing educational and prevention-oriented initiatives,
  • improving knowledge transfer between science, healthcare systems, and society,
  • and contributing to a healthier start for future generations.

We are pleased to be leading Working Group 5 on Stakeholder Engagement, Sustainability and Societal Impact alongside the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL) on this important Action. We are excited that this new network is now underway and that ESE will be contributing to this initiative to strengthen Europe’s capacity and leadership in protecting maternal and child health from harmful chemical exposures, ensuring a lasting legacy of collaboration and prevention beyond the Action lifetime – and improving the endocrine health of people across Europe.
