Patient Advocacy Group (PAG) Grants
Applications for grants to attend ECE 2027 in person - Opening soon
Representatives from ESE's Affiliated Patient Advocacy Group Membership Scheme have the opportunity to apply for a grant worth €400, as a contribution towards the cost of attending ECE. A limited number of PAG grants are available, and PAG representatives wishing to apply for a grant will be expected to participate in the Patient's Voice activities at the Congress, and act as advocates for the whole PAG community throughout the event.
Affiliated PAGs will be contacted when grant submissions open in November 2026. In the meantime, any questions about PAG grants, participation at the Congress or the PAG membership scheme can be directed to Natalie Dass.

- PAG grants are only available to representatives from groups affiliated with ESE via the PAG Affiliate Membership Scheme.
- A maximum of one grant per PAG is permitted.
- PAG representatives in receipt of a grant must commit to participating in the Patient's Voice activities at the Congress, and to being an advocate for the wider PAG community and not only their own organisation.
- Priority allocation of PAG grants will go to representatives of organisations that have a pan-European focus and/or act as an 'umbrella organisation' for a broader group of patient organisations.
Application Process
An application form will be provided to all eligible PAGs when submissions open. Completion of the form is mandatory to ensure that allocation and reimbursement can be handled efficiently.
Selection Process
Applicants will be contacted to confirm their intention to participate in the Patient's Voice activities at the Congress, on behalf of their own organisation as well as the wider PAG community. Priority will be given to representatives of organisations that have a pan-European focus and/or act as an 'umbrella organisation' for a broader group of patient organisations.
Grants are paid after the event/meeting and on receipt of an expense claim form and supporting receipts or documentation. These need to be submitted to the ESE Office within 6 weeks of the ECE meeting that has been attended, or the application will be void.

Please note: We are unable to provide grants to individuals or institutions currently under sanction according to the consolidated list of financial sanctions targets in the UK, as listed here.
Applications are verified to ensure this is not the case before a grant is awarded. ESE does not permit sanctioned individuals or individuals from sanctioned institutions to attend any ESE events.
