Childhood obesity: a treat for the adulthood

20 March 2026 (launch date)

Microlearning Video (by the Scientific Seminars International Foundation)

OVERVIEW:
Youth-onset insulin resistance is rising sharply, particularly among girls, Hispanic adolescents, and those with obesity. This early metabolic dysfunction is linked to long-term risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease. There is poor education about the serious health complications related to excessive adipose tissue during childhood and adolescence, and their impact on the future health of our children. A call to action is needed to stop the emergency of childhood obesity.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Improve the recognition of childhood overweight and obesity as a health treat affecting the future of babies and adolescents
