ESE Obesity and Endocrinology School 2027

The role of endocrinologists in the management of obesity is essential.

This brand-new ESE Obesity and Endocrinology School is aimed at those who are interested in obesity research and clinical practice, designed to complement existing obesity education, with a focus on obesity as an endocrine disease.  

ESE Obesity and Endocrinology School 2027 will cover both clinical and mechanistic aspects of obesity, with an aim to foster a new generation of experts equipped to tackle the obesity epidemic.

It will bring together experts from across Europe to discuss important developments in a rapidly evolving field by facilitating interactive learning and networking, and help to create future collaborations. 

All successful applicants will be invited to present a case report during one of the dedicated sessions. 

Topics include:

  • Control of appetite and energy balance
  • Weight regain
  • Endocrinology and obesity
  • Treatments
  • New frontiers in the field
  • Cases presented by attendees

The School is application based and limited to a maximum of 25 fellows.

You will be notified in December 2026 if you application has been successful. 

Please note: if your application is successful you will be required to contribute an amount of €390 towards the cost of your stay.

Candidates should fulfill the following requirements: 

  • Very good level of spoken English

  • Experience in obesity field with a a clear perspective of wanting to further specialise in this area of endocrinology

  • Published in the obesity field 

  • Willing to interact with colleagues during and after the course to disseminate their experience

  • All applicants must be a member of ESE, if you are not already and your application is successful, we will invite you to become a member. 

Successful applications will have complimentary food and accommodation (two nights at the meeting venue and hotel as well as access to the course.

Applicants will need to book their own travel and should arrive in time for the start of the course (10am on Monday 15 March 2027). Applicants will also be required to contribute €390 at the venue on arrival.

The School will start at 10am on Monday 15 March and finish at approx 13:30 on Wednesday 17 March 2027.

Commuter train to Gava station from Barcelona Sants station is approx 20 minutes, then a 10 minute taxi ride to the hotel. 

 

A small number of meeting grants will be available for successful applicants from low or middle income countries who are also members of ESE. 

Grant submission will be open for successful candidates only. This will open in December 2026.
