The 28th European Congress of Endocrinology starts tomorrow
The 28th European Congress of Endocrinology starts tomorrow
Date: 8 May 2026
Now in its 28th year, the European Congress of Endocrinology (ECE) 2026 commences on Saturday 9 May and runs until Tuesday 12 May. The Congress will bring together endocrine specialists from across Europe and the rest of the world to meet, collaborate and celebrate endocrinology at the Prague Congress Centre in Prague, Czech Republic. This year’s Congress will also celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE) since the formation of the Society in 2006.
The Congress has attracted over 4,000 delegates from over 100 countries to experience the latest endocrine research and developments in the field, and around 2,500 abstracts.
This important annual meeting provides an excellent opportunity for learning new perspectives and enabling scientific exchanges, coupled with extensive networking opportunities to make new connections with colleagues working in endocrinology across the globe. The diverse programme includes Plenaries, Symposia, Awards, Meet the Experts, Debates, Special sessions and Oral and Rapid Communications (please see the programme here).
ESE President, Wiebke Arlt commented “I believe this ECE will be a truly memorable one and I am excited to welcome endocrine researchers, clinicians, nurses, biochemists, allied health professionals, industry partners and patient group representatives from across the world. As we mark the 20th Anniversary of ESE at this year’s Congress, I am immensely proud of what all members of ESE’s community have achieved together — and confident about the impact we will continue to make in advancing endocrinology over the decades ahead.”
Various activities will be taking place to mark the 20th Anniversary of ESE as the voice for endocrinology in Europe and beyond. These include a special celebration and symposium centred around endocrinology over the past 20 years and the future ahead of us, with several keynote speakers highlighting major breakthroughs in the field of endocrinology. A digital booklet on the ‘The History of ESE 2006-2026’ will be launched at the Congress, authored by many past Presidents and key facilitators in the formation of the Society in 2004-2006. A mural will take centre stage in the Exhibition Hall, with an illustrator drawing the key milestones of ESE since its inception and capturing the recollections and experiences of delegates. This will build during the four days of the Congress and the finished mural will be available shortly afterwards to view on our ‘History of ESE’ website page.
