New Policy Paper has been published!
To bring EndoCompass to the attention of EU and national policymakers, we have published a policy paper that demonstrates how the research priorities outlined in the Roadmap contribute to some of the main public health challenges in Europe.
It covers four priority areas for action:
-
Tackling high-prevalence endocrine diseases including diabetes, obesity and metabolic conditions.
-
Addressing the endocrine causes and consequences of cancer.
-
Finding cures for rare endocrine diseases.
-
Promoting endocrine health throughout life and in our environment.
Please use this to inform your policy and advocacy activities – read the full paper here.
P&A plans for 2026 and beyond to disseminate EndoCompass
During the rest of 2026 our focus will be to bring EndoCompass and the accompanying policy paper to the attention of EU and national policymakers. We will use the ongoing debates around the next research framework programme (FP10) and the next EU Multiannual Framework Programme (MFF) for 2028 – 2034 to highlight the relevance of the research priorities identified to these programmes.
Our objective is clear: the potential of endocrine science to address Europe’s main public health challenges must be recognised and reflected in future research schemes at the EU and national levels.
This month (June) we are contacting key EU policymakers, and later this year we will contact a wider list of EU and national contacts in close coordination with the Presidents of the ECAS National Partner Societies and other organisations close to our community including other medical societies and environmental NGOs.
Call for action
You can individually support this collective effort by sharing EndoCompass and the policy paper on your institutional or personal social media channels, by discussing it at national or international events and/or by reaching out to policymakers you have contacts with. You can use the EndoCompass Toolkit resources to help you use, share and talk about the Roadmap at online or in-person events and meetings.
